OUR CERTIFICATIONS
When talking about wool and organic cotton, we are referring to a certified product. Specifically, these are the certifications acquired by Lane Mondial:
GOTS
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification is focused worldwide on defining the standards for the textile processing of organic fibers and outlines strict environmental and social criteria. The environmental criteria include an assessment of all the chemical input which must meet the basic requirements regarding toxicity and biodegradability. The GOTS certification also takes the social aspect into consideration: the whole textile chain must meet the minimum social criteria based on rules set by the International Labour Organization. The GOTS label certifies organic clothing in natural fabrics: linen, hemp, wool, and organic cotton. It is one of the most important and sought-after certifications in the textile industry.
OEKO-TEX
The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification focuses on requirements regarding the absence of substances that are hazardous to humans and the environment: heavy metals, toxic dyes, crop protection chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, etc.), dangerous substances such as formaldehyde, and more than 1000 other toxic chemicals/substances. Each OEKO-TEX® label affixed to an item of clothing has a serial number and bears the name of the institute that carried out the laboratory tests for the standard qualification.
ICEA
ICEA (Institute for Ethical Environmental Certification) recognizes companies that decide to carry out their production and work in compliance with the principles of social and environmental responsibility and demonstrate a high level of implementation of eco-technology, continuing to improve their corporate codes of ethics, practices, and conduct. These companies are alert to the sustainable development of agriculture and organic farming, which boosts the value of their certified products. The ICEA trademark is thus synonymous with the guarantee, control, and quality of organic production across diverse sectors, from agriculture and zootechnics to food products.
GLOBAL RECYCLED STANDARD
The Global Recycled Standard is promoted by Textile Exchange, one of the most important non-profit organizations that internationally promote responsible and sustainable development in the textile sector. With this standard, Textile Exchange recognizes the fundamental importance of recycling for the growth of a model of sustainable production and consumption; aims to encourage the reduction of resource consumption (virgin raw materials, water and energy) and to increase the quality of recycled products.
WOOLMARK
The Woolmark, WoolmarkBlend, and WoolBlend emblems are the global authority in the wool industry and are only affixed to products tested in authorized independent laboratories approved by “The Woolmark Company”. The trademarks provide consumers with guaranteed fiber content and quality. Consumers may be certain that products bearing the trademark have been strictly tested and awarded with a mark of excellence. The Woolmark symbol is for compliant products containing 100% pure virgin wool, the WoolmarkBlend symbol is for compliant products containing between 50% and 99.9% virgin wool, while the WoolBlend logo is for compliant products containing between 30% and 49.9% virgin wool.
MULESING FREE
